Baldur's Gate 3 is releases August 31 on Mac, PC, and PS5! Baldur's Gate 3 gets a simultaneous launch on PlayStation 5, as well as an official release date, Digital Deluxe edition, and more.

Baldur’s Gate 3 made a surprise appearance at Sony’s State of Play stream, confirming a console launch, split-screen co-op, and more. Players can dive into Baldur’s Gate 3 on Mac, PC, or PS5 once it releases on August 31. Larian Studios’ new RPG got an incredible new story trailer featuring General Ketheric Thorm, a nigh-invincible necromancer leading an army of the dead. Voiced by J. K. Simmons, this villain is one of the three main antagonists players will face alongside their companions in Baldur’s Gate 3.

Official Trailer:

Luckily, players will be able to confront these villains on multiple platforms. Baldur’s Gate 3 announced it would be coming to Mac, PC, and PS5 with full controller support. What’s more, Baldur’s Gate 3 will also have split-screen co-op, allowing two players to play on the same device. The game will also support full cross-progression between all platforms, including Steam Deck.
The Digital Deluxe Edition for Baldur’s Gate 3 was also just announced. Players who purchase the upgrade will get a digital OST, artbook, and Dungeons and Dragons character sheets for the origin characters of Baldur’s Gate 3. In game, they will receive Bard songs, paintings, and special artifacts inspired by the music, world, and characters of Divinity: Original Sin 2. What’s more, players who already purchased Baldur’s Gate 3 in Early Access get a free upgrade to the Digital Deluxe Edition.

These new digital goodies are also unlocked for any players who order the Collector’s Edition for Baldur’s Gate 3. Though it costs a steep $270, this treasure trove contains tons of physical collectible items including a cloth map, an art book, and an amazing statue of a mind flayer and drow battling. The Baldur’s Gate 3 Collector's Edition will only have a limited printing, so interested players should be sure to order one soon. Now that it has a concrete release date, players have just over six months until Baldur’s Gate 3 releases. So far, every core Dungeons and Dragons class except Monk is already in the game, and players can make characters of all species in the Player’s Handbook except for Half-Orc and Dragonborn. Though they didn't appear in Baldur's Gate 3's final Early Access update, players may see these options, as well as additional subclasses, arrive for the game's launch. Either way, with Dungeons and Dragons currently playtesting One D&D, Baldur’s Gate 3 will have plenty of new content to draw on for future DLC–and for mods, once creative players get their hands on the full game.
